('Brilliant!' - Boris Johnson.)

Lectica segnis Londinii vias
Stipet frequentes; quadrivium fremat
Stridore temonum volucrum
Somniferam spoliante pacem.

Plebem protervam quae manibus regit
Strictas habenas praeveniam citus,
Angusta vestigans viarum et
Impavida birota refulgens.

Me munus ales laetitia vehet
Passim volantem sicut erus super
Pontum procellosum volucrem
Mercurium Boreas adegit.

Translation: 'Let the lazy taxi clog up the crowded streets of London; let the crossroads roar with the screech of flashy cars, destroying the restful peace.I will speedily outstrip the mad crowds who clutch their steering wheels tight, seeking out hidden pathways, delighted in my fearless bicycle. This little gift will carry me everywhere, transported with joy, as great Boreas once drove the wings of Mercury above the tempestuous sea.'
